In 2006 we realised that there was little and very patchy provision in the region to support parents and students who wanted help in preparing for public exams.
Curriculum pressures at school dictate that there is little time left in the school calendar for 'real' revision or proper exam preparation and these same pressures also mean learning and study skills are only given lip service if brought up at all.
Also there are well recognised gaps within the current education system that are not fulfilled by the National Curriculum and very little provision nationally to help students with the transition between GCSE and 'A' Level studies.
The Knowledge Gap was set up with the following aims in mind:
To provide support for parents who are concerned about the immediate problem of getting their children through the stress of exams; and -
To give students the opportunity to regain confidence, top up their knowledge and be properly prepared for their exams.
Mission Statement
“Our mission is to develop the confidence, knowledge and understanding of all our students and provide them with the skills necessary to achieve their academic potential.”
Judging by the comments of parents and their children who have already attended knowledge gap courses we are succeeding in our aims. See our testimonials page to read some of these statements.
